The Houston Technology Center was closed at the end of 2017 after the formation of Houston Exponential. At that time several former HTC mentors saw a continuing need for mentoring energy related start-ups. They formed the Global Energy Mentors (GEM) group.
During the next several months GEM differentiated itself by adding:
A more structured methodology. This approach provides more specific success milestones, increasing the client's chances for long term success.
Virtual mentoring. While personal attention and face to face collaboration is always preferred, GEM now offers a virtual calaboration offering for clients. That new offering is based on the virtual collaboration capabilities of Microsoft Teams. With these new capabilities, GEM offers a virtual form of its methodology to clients anywhere in the world. All the client needs is a perisistent Internet connection and one or more email addresses.
GEM accepted its first mentoring client in October of 2018.
GEM is hosted by the Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. We thank them for their ongoing support.
